Day 1 : Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Dades
Gorge
Today in the morning our tour starts from Marrakech towards Ait Ben
Haddou. We will cross the Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains
and we will visit the argan oil cooperative. Then we will stop for
lunch at UNESCO World Heritage site in Ait Ben Haddou, the most
famous Kasbah in Morocco. After tasty lunch in local restaurant we
will continue through the Skoura Oasis, where numerous ancient
Kasbahs stand amongst the palm trees. Then from here, the route
takes us through Kela’a M’gouna
and the Valley of Roses. Here we
stop to see cosmetics locally made from the valley’s abundant roses.
After this we will continue to the Dades Gorge where we will stay in
local hotel.
Day 2 : Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Merzouga
Today we take a short drive to Todra Gorge where we will take a walk
to see the rock walls that rise up to 300 m in the narrowest parts.
Then we drive to Merzouga passing Tinghir, Erfoud and Rissani. We
will arrive late afternoon to our Erg Chebbi desert hotel and we
prepare for camel trek. We will take a 90 minute camel ride to see
the sunset on top of the dunes and then we continue to the desert
camp. We will have a traditional Moroccan food -tagine, we will
drink delicious mint tea and listen to traditional Berber music. We
will spend this night in a traditional nomad tent.
Day 3 : Merzouga - Agdez – Ouarzazate
We wake early to see the spectacle of the sunrise over the Sahara
dunes before we make our way back to the hotel where
we take
breakfast and a shower. We will visit the ‘black village’ of Khamlia
to see the Gnawa musicians before we take a tasty lunch -
traditional Berber pizza in Rissani. Then we continue to Agdez and
Draa valley where we head north to Ouarzazate ,where we stay
overnight.
Day 4 : Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Telouet –
Marrakech
Today we drive back to Marrakech via Tizi n’ Tichka pass.We will
stop in Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou where we will have lunch.
We get back to Marrakech in the evening. |
